Rupesh, born in 1958
in Mexico City, has dedicated 35 years to the study of Eastern and
Western percussion and to spiritual growth. An eclectic musical career, Rupesh
has traveled extensively in the US, Japan, Latin-America and India, recording
with Upanishad, recognized for their performance at the Olympic Games in
Atlanta, Deuter from Germany, and in 1994 releasing his debut album Laughing
Drums (Bauer) followed by Living Drums (Bauer) in 1997. Rupesh recording for
Nazca Music include Dancing Tribe, Let go, Inside Out and most recently Tribal Meditation.
It is a powerful dancing meditation, which is loved worldwide.
Rupesh unites his skills as a performing percussionist, his fascination in body
awareness and grounding techniques and offers worldwide workshops which are
especially well received in India, Japan and Europe. Evident in the Rupesh
experience are decades of world influences that blend Caribbean, Afro-Cuban,
and Eastern rhythms along with select modern elements of ambient trance and
techno music.
In recent years he is based in Mexico, and travels to play around the world, Costa Rica,
Japan, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
In Autumn 2009 he is diagnosed lymphoma, which he tried to cure with alternative and allophatic medicine.

In August 2010, when he regained his strength for a while, he did another tour to Denmark, Japan and Portugal,
and recorded a new CD with Deva Sofia and Harida in our studio.
His journey took him onwards to India, where he felt very sick again, and back home to Mexico in November.
The cancer has spread to his brain, and his strength is now fading, he spending his last days in a beautiful care home in Queretaro near his family.
Rupesh left his body on the 30th of January 2011, peacefully accompanied by his family. Fly high , beloved friend!
