Born in Amsterdam,
Holland in 1957, Ro has been performing as percussionist in several ensembles
in Salsa, Samba, Latin Jazz and other Latin American styles, among others with
Jango Edwards and the Festival of Fools. His musical career then took him to
the United States, where he lived in Detroit for five years, mainly playing
Jazz with the Prismatic Band. On his return to Holland in 1982, he
toured Europe with Los Mambos, Joia, and Diego's Canela. Since 1988, Ro has
been living in Freiburg, Germany. Along with his extensive touring schedule,
among others with Alfredo de la Fe and his orchrestra, in Europe and Colombia,
he is involved in composing and arranging music and sounds for film and theater
projects, where his musical flexibility and vitality is as appreciated as his
abilities and expressiveness on a wide range of percussion. |
