Yashu's second release with Nazca Music incorporates a fascinating
blend of Eastern and Western styles and instrumentations. Her scales on the
flute carry the heart of the East, soft and playful, as she guides the listener
inwards. The melodies are centered in the heart, while some are recent
compositions, others were conceived in the presence of Osho, twenty years ago.
They all take you on the same journey, from the heart to the essence, from the
essence to the heart. The opening track 'Buddha Jazmin', inspired by the birth
of her grandchild, reflects the wonder of the path and evokes a transformation
by seeing the new and the old. A celebrative mood is created in the strong
rhythmic Arabian tune called 'Gap in Marrakesh,' which incorporates influences
of Sufism with the fire of flamenco, aspects of Yashu's past. Yashu is
accompanied by her long time friends, Harida on drums and percussion; Somesh on
guitar and keyboard; and Moksha on guitar, bass and guimbre (traditional bass
from Marocco).
